Washington
DC has a host of attractions located just
outside the districts boundaries, including
the the home of the citys illustrious
namesake situated on the Potomac at Mount Vernon.
Alexandria, Manassas and Middleburg are all
great places to visit in their own right as
are Annapolis, Accokeek, Bethesda and Glen
Echo, all within a hours drive time of the
city center. Attractions surround the District
from the National Cemetery at Arlington to
the Air & Space Museum Storage Facility
in Suitland. Look for theme parks, national
parks, museums, historic homes and monuments
spreading away from the city center into the
surrounding Virginia and Maryland landscape.
So follow the seasons to your favorite time
of the year and plan a visit to this extraordinary
place. Come see why one city cannot begin to
hold it all!
